![]() ![]() I added a new PC device to the hub but when it asked to connect to the PC with Bluetooth, I connected to the Shield instead. Has anyone set up anything like this or figured out another way to use Kodi on the Shield TV with the Harmony remote and still have full use of all the buttons?Įdit: Figured it out thanks to the suggestions below. From there, I could try to add only the generic key presses from either of those remotes. The only other thing I can think of is possibly using a second IR receiver like the Flirc or a Microsoft remote receiver and add that device to the activity button on Harmony. Other keys (like the number keys), Kodi doesn't recognize them at all. Keys that don't already have Shield commands associated with them aren't recognized because (I assume) the remote just doesn't send any command for those keys. Next, I was just going to use a keybind editor in Kodi to set the actions in Kodi to the button presses on the remote but that didn't work either. This didn't work because the device I need to send to (the Shield) only has a few commands (directional buttons, ok, play, pause, ff, rw, etc) and not a full keyboard layout. Initially I was just going to go into the Harmony app and set the buttons on the remote to match the keyboard keys for Kodi. Setting it up to work with the Shield was easy and all of the basic stuff works but once I installed Kodi, I found a lot of commands missing or wrong. This is kind of a Harmony Remote question but it's specifically about setting up Kodi on an Nvidia Shield.īasically, I'm trying to set up Kodi to use on my Shield TV with this Harmony Remote.
